• 1875-06-02 NY census for Catharine, Schuyler Co., NY, dwelling #24: Samuel B Owen(39), Sarah D Owen(40), Elbert E Owen(6) and Ida M Ganung(5). Ida is daughter of John (Sarah's brother). They live next door to Emaline Ganung(54) and her grandkids: Ida M(9) and Zela G(9) King. Emaline is Sarah's Aunt.
• 1880-06-07 Federal census for Montour, Schuyler Co., NY has the Owens family: Samuel B(44), Sarah D(45), Elbert E (11). Also there: niece Mary A "Mate" Wood(26).
• 1888-09-08 marries Eva Lena Keyser in Catherine, Schuyler Co., NY.
• 1889-03-15 Letter from Mate Wood mentions that she has heard Bert is planning to move. Apparently she's been storing stuff as his place, so she anticipates needing to relocate her goods.
• 1889-04-28 Letter from Mate Wood - Bert and his father (Samuel Owen) bring some of Mate Wood's stuff to her in Havana, NY.
