• 1870-06-29 Federal census for Sullivan, Tioga Co., PA lists toddler Orris: Stephen(35), Sophia(24), Orris(1).
• 1880-06-15 Federal census for Sullivan, Tioga Co., PA lists the Mudges: SG(35). SE(34), Orris E(10), Frank W(6), Addie R(4), Edith L(1).
• 1888-07-07 Florence E Mudge born. Apparently raised by grandparents (Stephen & Sophia Mudge) per 1990 Mansfield census where she is listed as "Faurence" E(11).
• 1889-10-13 Letter from Mary (Ganoung) Wood to Helen (Wood) Stage mentions in passing that she bumped into his mother at the county/town fair. He and his wife, Lattie, had moved in at the Whitlock place. A month later Lattie is dead. Lattie's a Whitlock.
• 1896 Marries Dora Lucinda Monro.
• 1900-06-13 Federal census for Richmond, Tioga Co., PA has the Mudge family: OE(30), Dora(25), SM(3), Gladys(6 mos).
• 1910-06-26 Federal census for Sullivan, Tioga Co., PA lists the Mudges: Orris E(40), Dora(35), Stephen M(13), Gladys(10), Earl(5), Cole(4). Also in the dwelling: Boarder Odell Hartgrove(22) and hired man Spencer Cleveland(19).
