• 1880-06-03 Federal census for Scioto, Pickaway Co., OH has "Catharine"(19) living with the Dountz family: Fredrick(39), Emma(39), Edwin(13), Willis O(8), Jesse F(5), Charles C(3). You're thinking "Dountz" is close to "Coontz" and then you get a little creeped out by Willis (she marries Willis Coontz) being 8. A quick check of other census records confirms the Dountzes are different famuly. Future husband Willis actually lives a few blocks away (and is her age).
